In the Physical science program at Mountain Empire Junior High, Science 8 will concentrate on Physical Science. We will be providing a foundation in the chemical nature of our universe, relating physical laws with everyday activities. All eighth grade California State Science Standards will be covered which include science topics covering: Newton 's laws, measurement in Motion, Structure of Matter, Changes in Matter, Energy, Wave Motion, Electricity and Magnetism. One part of learning science is to learn the practice of conducting science experimentation. For this reason all students will be expected to complete a science fair project. I anticipate a busy and exciting year for your student in Science. A unit on health and AIDS will also be provided to eighth grade students. My grading policy is strictly by the numbers with attendance and missing work affecting grades. Please contact me for ways we can work together for your child's learning to be successful.
