Although many of our teachers have special items they would like you to help donate, here is a basic list for most classrooms:

Please be sure that each item is clearly marked with the student’s name

standard size backpack
wide-ruled 3 hole notebook paper (because "scrunched-up" writing makes teachers grouchy)
2 spiral notebooks (70-100 pages)
1 pencil-pouch (because it's portable & there won't be room for a pencil box)
#2 pencils regular or mechanical (bring enough for your immediate needs)
1 good eraser (because mistakes happen)
1 pencil sharpener with cap for shavings (without a motor because sometimes quicker and quieter is better)
1 glue stick
2 highlighters
post-its
paperback thesaurus & dictionary for home use
calculator (inexpensive)

Optional:

1 red pen for correcting homework assignments (because corrections should be easy to spot)
colored pencils for precise drawings and/or markers for bold presentations

Items not to be marked:

2 reams Xerox type copy paper (Walmart or…)
Wide ruled notebook paper
Expo type dry erase markers, two or more
Extra pencils
baby wipes and/ or hand sanitizer (to keep hands clean and students healthy)
